Silver Age

The Silver Age of Comic Books was a period beginning in 1956 to 1970. The release of the new version of The Flash in Showcase Comics #4 in October 1956 is largely considered the beginning of the Silver Age of Comics. There is no clear defining moment that ended the Silver Age, but some consider the Death of Gwen Stacy a defining end, while others argue that it was the change from 12 cents to 15 cent books. Lastly, some consider the departure of Jack Kirby from Marvel, with his last book being Fantastic four #102 published in September 1970.
