Golden Age

The Golden Age of Comic Books was a period beginning in 1938 and ended in the mid ’50s. The birth of Superman in Action Comics #1 is the definitive start to the Golden Age of Comics. The term was coined by Richard A. Lupoff in April 1960. The Golden Age is unofficially ended with Showcase #4 published in October 1956.
